Waste sorting is the end-of-life half of the calculation. The left side lists the waste categories your scheme recognises; the right side lists the materials you have mapped, with the mass the model implies. You assign each material to a category.

Categories

The category list follows the project’s calculation scheme — the link next to the Waste heading names it. Each category shows how many sortings it currently holds. Switch the whole page between kg and ton with the toggle beside the heading.

Materials waiting to be sorted

Each library card on the right shows:
  • the emission it currently contributes, and the wastage assumed on top — 10% waste on average unless the EPD says otherwise;
  • the total mass available to sort;
  • its material category.
Assign sends the material to a waste category.

A material assigned to a category

Once assigned, the material sits under its category with the mass, the resulting emission, and the fraction percentage it represents. Review amounts flags anything that needs a second look.
Waste is calculated from what is mapped, so map materials first. Anything unmapped carries no mass and cannot be sorted.
