Use the Speckle Connector for Rhino to send Rhino geometry to a Speckle stream that a Real-Time LCA project listens to.

Prerequisites

  • A Rhino version supported by the Speckle Connector.
  • Your Real-Time LCA Speckle credentials for https://api.realtimelca.com (sent by email when you activated your account β€” see Introduction to Speckle).
  • A Real-Time LCA project configured with a Speckle Connection (see Create a new project).

Install the connector

Install the Speckle Connector for Rhino from releases.speckle.systems. After restart, run Speckle from the Rhino command line to open the connector.

Publish a model

  1. Open your Rhino file.
  2. Run Speckle and sign in to the Real-Time LCA Speckle server (https://api.realtimelca.com).
  3. Select the project and model matching your Real-Time LCA stream.
  4. Pick the objects or layers to publish.
  5. Click Publish.

Tagging geometry

Because Rhino doesn’t have built-in BIM types, attach the parameter Real-Time LCA expects (by default BIMTypeCode) as user text on the objects or layers you publish. Real-Time LCA reads that key to group geometry into BIM types.
