# Faroe Islands

The Faroe Islands currently apply the Danish **BR18 (2023)** building regulation for building-level climate documentation. Real-Time LCA exposes the same BR18 (2023) calculation type as is used in [Denmark](/methodology-and-compliance/national-compliance/denmark), with no local divergence.

## BR18 (2023)

<LifecyclePhases included={['A1A3', 'B4', 'B6', 'C3', 'C4', 'D']} note="Blue = required modules under BR18 §297–298 (2023 ruleset)." />

* **Reference study period:** 50 years.
* **Indicator:** Global Warming Potential (GWP), kg CO₂-eq per m² GFA per year.
* **Threshold:** **12 kg CO₂-eq / m² / year**.
* **Output:** BR18 Excel export.

See the [Denmark page](/methodology-and-compliance/national-compliance/denmark) for full BR18 methodology details, lifetime table behaviour, and limitations — they apply unchanged to projects located in the Faroe Islands.

## Level(s) and Custom

**Level(s)** and **Custom** are also available — see [Level(s)](/methodology-and-compliance/levels) and the overview of [Custom calculations](/methodology-and-compliance/).

## Limitations

No locally adapted variant of BR18 exists for the Faroe Islands at this time. If the Faroese authorities issue a divergent national regulation in future, it would appear here as an additional calculation type.
